X3 Triple Auxiliary Audio Input with X3FRD/P2 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury Harness for vehicles with the 16 and 24-pin harness. The best way to determine which FORD X3 harness is compatible is to remove the radio and look at the connectors in order to count the number of pins.

The X3-FRD/P2 is one of P.I.E.’s newest additions to their line of X3 harnesses, and is compatible with Ford vehicles (both CAN BUS and non-CAN BUS) that use the 16 and 24-pin (Phase 2) radio connectors. The X3 System is composed of a universal brain module and a wired remote input switcher with display plus a vehicle specific wiring harness. The X3-FRD/P2 was specially designed to provide auxiliary input to the OEM radio while maintaining the factory CD Changer, Satellite radio, and NOW factory Rear Seat Entertainment. The X3-FRD/P2 connects to PIE Part # “X3” (brain module) and allows 3 auxiliary audio sources to be connected to the OEM radio. This two-piece interface will interrupt the audio of the CD Changer, Satellite Radio or RSE, switching from AUX1, AUX2, AUX3, and back to the factory device.

The X3-FRD/P2 harness will install behind the radio in-series with the factory 16-pin and 24-pin connector.
